If you’ve been a friend of my blog, you know how much I love music and how much I need it in my life. And my family members are the same way. We’ve tried several different “speaker” systems and some are quite expensive.
But recently I was chosen to “test drive” the new Google Chromecast Audio from Best Buy. And I loved it. It works by plugging directly into my laptop so I can stream music in my home office during the day.
the biggest fans of this device are my kids. We have twin preschoolers, a high schooler and a college age student all who want to play their own music in different parts of the home. Normally this quickly turns into an argument over who’s going to use which device but now they can go to their room and rock out to their own tunes.
Now the best part of the set up for for the Chromecast Audio was that my 4 1/2-year-old twin daughters were able to use it. They simply plugged it into their tablet and went to YouTube Kids and had their own dance party. Jokingly my husband said it sounded too good because it was so clear (since it uses WiFi instead of Bluetooth) it found himself singing along while folding clothes in the laundry room. Yes! – he knows all of Solange’s music because they love her.
The best thing to me honestly is the setup. I swear my kids know more about technology than I do and complicated things I am always asking for one of them to help. All you do is plug Chromecast Audio into your speakers from the auxiliary input, connect to Wi-Fi and tap the Cast button from your favorite apps. DONE!
Listen to your favorite artists on your speakers, phone, laptop…just about anywhere. By using hundreds of your favorite audio apps you can stream millions of songs, radio stations, and podcasts through apps like Pandora, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Google Play Music. And for the teenagers in your home, they can easily use their phone to play, pause, or change the volume from anywhere. Oh yeah… while streaming, you can still text or call without interrupting what’s playing or draining your battery.
While most speaker devices use Bluetooth connects, the Chromecast Audio uses WiFi to stream and offers many advantages such as higher sound quality.
Play music everywhere with Multi-room and if you’re having a party or just want to change the mood of the entire house especially during the holidays you can simply group Chromecast Audio devices together so you can listen to the same song on multiple speakers.
Be sure to check out Best Buy to pick up your own Google Chromecast Audio!
It’s my goal to one day to actually live in a Best Buy Tech Home LOL!
